Early Moves - 10/09/2025
It's not even the weekend yet, which is when I'd allocate a few minutes to moving funds from my primary to secondary account then secondary to broker account.
I've already completed this weekends transactions ahead of schedule.
There was a shortfall of two £50 payments because I was going to accumulate the precious metal fund in my secondary account.
It has since been decided that it's going to take a while before those £50 accumulations will be enough to buy even the smallest denomination of gold. So rather than have those £50 increments sat in a low interest bank account being eroded, I may as well package it with the £200 intended for the cash ISA and let it all mature together.
So this week I've included the £100 from the previous two weeks as well as this weeks £250 to square off any outstanding payments, and the funds for GILT Buy number three is cued up ready for Monday.
Because the ease of initiating these transfers is convenient with added simplicity, it takes minutes to park the money where it is needed.
In a short space of time I've gotten £750 into cash ISA and £200 already into GILT with £100 pending (Monday). By month's end, £1,250 into cash ISA and £500 into GILT; this is progress.
Considering several years ago I'd have blown a good portion of that on weed, alcohol and fuel in my car making countless pointless journeys to get baked and drunk with "friends", redirecting this money hasn't come a day too soon.
I plan to maintain this momentum for the foreseeable so I can look back in 12 months and see progress, then also look back in 5 years and really embrace the benefits of the overall transition. £100k in investments is my near term target and the work does not stop there. £100k will just make it easier to hit £250k, £500k then £1m.
It shouldn't take nearly as long to hit £250k as it will o hit the first £100k. It would be very nice to hit that £1m goal in under ten years then living off the results of my investments working for me.
